Marjorie Cunningham
Marjorie Cunningham is a native of Miami, Florida. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Florida in Health Education in 1980. In 1985 she graduated from the Respiratory Therapy Institute as a Certified-Eligible Respiratory Technician. She earned her Master in Public Administration degree from Nova Southeastern University School of Business and Entrepreneurship in 1995.
Ms. Cunningham has worked for over fifteen years in the management of programs and services utilized by the elderly and disabled. She is experienced as a managed care professional with five years of physician contract negotiations. Most recently, she was a Senior Network Account Manager for a national health maintenance organization, where she managed the relationship between the health maintenance organization and several large physician groups. As Senior Network Account Manager, she educated physician groups about the health maintenance organization and ensured that the physicians were satisfied with the contractual relationship. She was a principal negotiator for all contracting assignments and facilitated cross-functional team meetings, including representatives from Senior Management, Care Coordination, Sales and Government Programs regarding high impact negotiations. She was also responsible for monitoring activities concerning the contract load process, assisting with claims resolution, following up with regulatory agencies regarding complaints and resolving provider service issues.
In June, 2002, Ms. Cunningham joined the Law Offices of Steven M. Ziegler, P.A., bringing her extensive managed care and contract negotiations background with her. Her primary responsibility is assisting the Firm's attorneys in defending benefit and medical negligence cases. In this capacity, she is also responsible for claims analysis, medical reviews, analysis of provider files and assisting the Firm's attorneys in preparing cases for trial.
